Emma Wheeler is a British mezzo-soprano who studied with Susan Roper at the Royal Northern College of Music where she received a First for her Bachelor’s degree in 2017 and Distinction for her Master of music degree in 2019.


Her recent roles include alto 2 Savitri (Northern Opera Group), Erica Vanessa (RNCM opera scene), third lady cover Die Zauberflöte (Longborough Festival Opera), Marcellina cover Le Nozze di Figaro (LOF), Emma Citizens of Nowehere (Tête-à-tête), Assunta The Saint of Bleecker Street (RNCM opera scene), Louise La Vie Parisienne, Joe Street Scene (RNCM). Her chorus experience includes Gilbert and Sullivan National Company’s The Mikado, The Gondoliers, The Pirates of Penzance and The Yeoman of the Guard, LFO’s La Traviata, Die Zauberflöte and Le Nozze di Figaro, RNCM’s Cosi Fan Tutti, Street Scene, The Merry Widow and L’elisir D’amore and the Opera Studio Melbourne’s Eugene Onegin, The Juniper Tree and Orpheus and the Underworld.


Emma’s concert repertoire includes Sea Pictures Elgar, Messiah Handel, Elijah Mendellsohn and Mozart’s Requiem and Solemn Vespers.


She was a recipient of the Oglesby Trust scholarship at the RNCM for her Masters..
